Grant Writing Coaching Program

This program is for organizations that want to actually learn how to do grants well and build a sustainable system around them.

We cover the full picture of grant writing from start to finish. That includes how to research grants, what to prepare ahead of time, what funders are actually looking for, the questions they’re going to ask, and how to answer them in a way that’s clear and compelling.

So yes, you’re learning all of it. But you’re also doing it!

This is a hands-on, working program where we’re applying everything directly to your organization in real time. We’re identifying opportunities, building your core materials, and writing actual content together.

By the end, you will have the skills, tools, and strategy to keep pursuing grants in a way that’s consistent and sustainable.

What You’ll Get

This is a working program, so you are both learning and building real materials as you go. By the end of the eight weeks, you’ll learn how to:

  • Research and identify the right grant opportunities

  • Prepare what’s needed before you start writing

  • Understand what funders are looking for and how they review applications

  • Approach common grant questions and write clear, strong narratives

  • Develop outcomes, impact, and evaluation language that makes sense

  • Build a program budget and sustainability approach that aligns

Simultaneously, you’ll be building:

  • A grants tracker with real grant opportunities

  • A master grant document with your core content drafted and language you can reuse

  • A program and organizational budget template

  • At least one drafted or submitted grant

  • A clear 6–12 month grant plan

Who This Is For

This is a good fit for your organization if:

  • You have someone in-house managing grants (Development Director or other development support staff or Executive Director) that is looking for hands-on coaching support with grant writing

  • You feel like you’re starting from scratch every time you apply

  • You want to actually understand how grants work, not just submit them

  • You’re looking for guidance, structure, and accountability as you build this

This tends to work best for organizations that are ready to be involved and want to build something they can continue using long-term.

“Lydia is a tremendous resource for anyone in the non-profit world, but more so, she is understanding, patient and kind. In a very short period of time, she helped build my confidence as an Executive Director and equipped me with a skill set I never knew I had.”

— Kim Derrick, Executive Director, Heart of Mary House

“Lydia has not only helped stabilize our organization's financial situation, but she's helped us grow consistently over the years. While she primarily leads our grant writing and reporting, she's very knowledgeable in all aspects of fundraising. She's extremely reliable, responsive, and competent.
